First post, not quite there yet – coming along

Hi there, my name is Pat. I created this website shortly after the 2025 election was called. I was really frustrated with the polling, so this was my way to sort things out, I guess — The massive swings in such short times were truly bizarre, perhaps even rare. It left so many of us (of all political stripes) scratching our heads, and feeling super chaotic. As of this writing (03-29-2025) I don’t know how correct those polls are, we shall see! But no matter what happens, I feel we need more outlets. Not just social media polls because there are so many and they are fleeting. Instead I wanted something to help balance all the noise, a sticky, a place to come back to and muse about.

Now, I know what you will say – this is not definitive – it’s just online, it’s not weighted or proportional to the sample sizes, people aren’t carefully chosen in certain areas etc…. it’s just mathematically stupid — a shot in the dark. But it’s better than nothing, and at this time I don’t see much out there to simmer the pot. Of course it will matter if the site is even used, I hope it will be because that’s the point – a slow, steady burn to see changes over time. I have the patience.

Currently I have a few thoughts on how we will proceed.

– First, although I am a huge supporter of lots of interaction without having to register a username on websites; I think it’s better if we close any voting for only people who sign up – it will be free. Burner and bot accounts will happen, but it’s one step towards focusing on real people voicing their opinions.
– The Daily Grind: You don’t have to come here daily lol, but there will be a way to vote up or down once per day for anyone or party you want. This is where we will see any trends over time.
– Straight up Review: You can leave a review for anyone – like when you shop. Answer a few questions and or write a comment. I have left both parts separate incase you just want to review without commenting.
– I am currently looking at ways to let members throw out some of their own polls here and there. This could be useful to share with friends.

Everything is new.. things might break.. stuff is missing

I’m trying to get this rolled out before the election while the momentum is still fresh in my head – then work on it as time permits. I might put up a feature board for those that miraculously find us and have ideas to share. Most of all this is just a personal website in hopes it helps someone out there. Thanks for visiting.
